November 2011 – Las Vegas – Skybites.net, a mobile optimized website aimed at making eating while flying easier for airline crews was developed by Las Vegas software development company, Raster Media under the direction of Southwest Airlines pilot, Tony Malfa. Skybites.net is THE best way to order food while flying from city to city – just go to www.skybites.net, place and pay for your order and the food will be delivered to you the moment you land! This revolutionary new mobile website is currently only available to airline staff flying on Southwest Airlines. The intention is for other airlines to follow suite with the idea behind the site, making traveling more pleasant for crews – and possibly passengers or even food distributors – flying with every airline in the world.

“I developed this app because I was frustrated with the impracticality of getting food while flying. The industry standard was to walk down to the terminal after you land, order your food and wait to receive it, despite being on a strict time crunch in order to turn the plane around and get the flights out on time. In most or many cases, flight staff ended up having to leave without their food after having already paid for it just to make their flight on time. I knew there had to be an easier way, so I came up with the idea for Skybites.net.”
